SANDIE TERRY
Meet the Pack
gamprs of lil' hill farm
Eighteen years ago, I retired from the Unified Judicial System of Alabama and decided I wanted to raise livestock in my retired life. My husband and I had 20 acres in Chalybeate Springs, Alabama, and after searching for what would work best for us, I discovered the Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. They fit the bill being small in stature and easy to work with. The problem was that coyotes were wreaking havoc on surrounding farms, and we needed protection for our goats.
Upon researching, I found the Armenian Gamprs and loved their history and their reputation for being discerning yet fierce guardians. I own three Gamprs now and am thankful we have no predation problems with them on the job. They are amazing animals, and the neighbors keep telling me how much they appreciate having them in my pastures as they have also not lost any of their livestock.
